Well you can only say that the ladies first experience of playing a 100 match was a baptism of fire, but the team were still smiling come the end.
Batting first against visiting team Hawksbury Upton it wasn’t long before the wickets started to be taken and in less than 30 minutes and 31 balls our ladies were all out for 26 runs.
They tried their best to stay in the game but unfortunately Hawksbury Upton soon achieved 26 runs and technically the game was over. However the ladies agreed to carry on for another few overs so that the visiting team could all have a go at batting and some of the Coalpit team could practice their bowling!
Despite the score this was a great introduction for the ladies to a match where almost all the normal rules of cricket apply and where all the team, except Claire, experienced being out! They are even looking to arrange some friendly 100 matches so if your ladies team are interested why not get in touch.
